What is a Public Adjuster

A public insurance adjuster is a professional claims handler who advocates for the policyholder in negotiating an insurance claim. Unlike insurance adjusters who work for the insurance companies, public adjusters are hired by the insured (the policyholder) to work on their behalf. Our primary role is to help the policyholder receive the proper indemnification owed by their policy, complete all of the duties and forms owed to the carrier by the insured, and generally advocate for the prompt payment of the claim by the insurer.

Suffering a loss from a fire, storm damage, or other insured event, is stressful enough even before dealing with the complexities and challenges of the insurance claims process; especially when it comes to accurately estimating the cost of repairs or replacing damaged property. As public adjusters, we step in to handle that claims process for you, using our expertise to assess the damage, prepare estimates and forms, and negotiate with the insurance company so that you receive a fair and prompt payment of your claim.

As public adjusters we are paid a percentage of the claim settlement on a contingency basis. This means we are only paid if you are, and only as you are paid. While we are more commonly used in cases of significant losses, where the claims process is complicated, we believe everyone deserves fair representation in the negotiation of their claim. It’s for that reason that we’ll always be your advocate on any property damage claim; no matter how large or small. We encourage insureds to perform their own due diligence when hiring a public adjuster, including checking their credentials and reputation, and making sure they are properly licensed, bonded, and have the right background to properly assist them in their claim.

We hope your research into our firm will lead you to the same belief we already hold: Iron Crow Consulting is the best choice for advocating your claims needs!
